E1. Code baseline completed. All current versions of documented source code for applications and framework made publicly available via the Web. All EVA codes and baseline codes are available for download from this webpage, which is accessible from the public ESMF website (http://www.esmf.ucar.edu) via the "Milestones and Archives" link on the navigation bar. E2. (Part I). Assemble EVA Suite. The ESMF VAlidation (EVA) Suite has been assembled and documented. A set of code descriptions and code references are available on the ESMF website via the "Applications" link on the navigation bar, at left. The "User Links and Downloads" part of the ESMF website includes a link to the EVA User's Guide and instructions for downloading the data files necessary to run the codes. The EVA User's Guide explains the directory structure of the EVA Suite and how to compile, run and verify the EVA codes. E3. (Part I). Titles of the agreements and agreement numbers. Code baseline completed. All current versions of documented source code for applications and framework made publicly available via the Web. A written description of the problem being solved to demonstrate the required improvement. The goals of the ESMF framework, the scope of the framework, and performance and other requirements of the framework are described in the ESMF General Requirements Document. A written description of the computer code(s) used to meet the milestone, including descriptions of the algorithms, numerical methods, and parallel implementation. Descriptions of the EVA Suite codes are accessible via the "Applications" link on the navigation bar of the ESMF website (code IDs a-g). Descriptions of the other two codes submitted for this milestone, the MITgcm and the NCEP analysis system, are also available via the "Applications" link (code IDs lc and s, respectively). If the code is a parallel code, a scaling analysis showing the performance of the code on several numbers of processors including the number used to meet the milestones. A scaling analysis of the EVA Suite gridpoint code, JMC ID c, is available via the link provided in E3, above. Documentation as identified in the appropriate milestone. The documentation specified by the ESMF Software Developer's Guide, part III, section 2, is provided with the submitted codes and on the ESMF website. The location of an FTP or Web site where NASA may obtain a copy of the computer code(s) in source language form, and any test datasets, makefiles, or other information necessary for NASA to independently verify the achievement of the milestone. The data may also be made available to NASA by noting its location on the file system of a computing system where it can be run. If this system is not a system provided by the CT Project, provision must be made for access by CT staff to perform the validation. See links provided for E1 - E5, above. A summary of the scientific or computational significance of achieving the milestone, including graphics if appropriate.
